You surely have come across the term cloud hosting recently in newspapers. How can you not when all you have been reading is how cloud hosted websites are more immune to crashes and lagging? Probably if you are not a technical person you could not really understand what the exact concept behind cloud hosting is.
Cloud hosted websites goes away with the entire load on one server as in single server hosted websites. Now consider two alternatives. In one situation you are given a team to help you perform a task and in another one you have to perform the task on your own. While you may prefer working alone the task has much more chances of successful completion when you have an entire team working with you.
Cloud hosted websites work on this concept. Website hosting is done on multiple servers which are interconnected. In a single dedicated server hosting system if there is some problem with the server the entire website crashes. However as there are multiple servers in the cloud hosting system even if one of the server node crashes the others can function perfectly.
The ease of use is a luring factor in cloud hosted websites. The entire process is automated and the server nodes might not even be necessarily in the same building

I do like the concept of cloud hosting but find it a little complex. What if the connectivity between servers broke down?
Hosting a site on a cloud hosting over a network is a great idea. It lightens up the load and the cost of managing the server.
I agree. Cloud hosting is a great idea for sites that have a huge amount of traffic which is unmanageable on a single server.
